Surface treatment process
Hot-dip galvanizing
A common and mature corrosion protection method. The zinc coating thickness is typically 70–100μm. The zinc layer isolates the material from air and moisture, while also providing electrochemical protection. The overall cost is manageable, making it suitable for large-scale use.

Dacromet/Zinc-aluminum coating
The coating thickness is usually 8–15μm. It offers outstanding salt spray resistance, exceeding 1000 hours. It eliminates the risk of hydrogen embrittlement, making it more suitable for high-strength fasteners, and also meets environmental requirements.

Phosphating/Blackening
